Álvaro Vega Báscones

Álvaro Vega Báscones begins his musical studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music “Ataulfo Argenta” of Santander with the professor Lara Eloísa Manzano Gómez. In 2015 he began his higher studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music “Rafael Orozco”, being his transverse flute teacher Wéndela Claire van Swol and finishing his studies in 2019. In 2018 he entered the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium, being his professor Aldo Baerten, concluding his studies with high distinction in the year 2020 and thus obtaining a direct place to carry out the Master in Interpretation, which he finished in June 2022 with Cum Laude. In the year 2020 he was selected to do an exchange at the University of Hamburg with Professor Jürgen Franz for the 2021-2022 academic year. In addition to his training within the conservatories, his musical concern has led him to carry out numerous improvement courses with professors of the stature of Kersten McCall (Principal Flute of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam), Julie Moulin (Flutist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam), Michelangelo Angulo (Flute Player in the National Orchestra of Spain), Antonio Arias (Flute Player of the National Orchestra of Spain), Salvador Martínez (Professor at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía) among others. His activity as a flutist has allowed him to be part of numerous orchestras, such as: Castellón Municipal Band, Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Euskadi Symphonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO), where he was selected as principal flute in the year 2020, Youth Orchestra of Cantabria (JOSCAN), EGO (Young Orchestra of the Basque Country), Youth Antwerp Orchestra (AJO), Córdoba Symphony Band and the Orquesta de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias. He has had the opportunity to work under the baton of great masters such as: Alexandre Bloch, Enrique García Asensio, José Luis Temes, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Vladimir Stoupel, among others. During the 2020-2021 academic year he has been a transverse flute teacher at the “Ataulfo Argenta” professional music conservatory of Santander.
