Gian Carlo Scevola

Gian Carlo Scevola is a Chilean guitarist based in Barcelona. His career combines solo performance and chamber music with a solid academic background and extensive artistic experience throughout Spain and Latin America.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Musical Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, where he graduated with the Outstanding Graduate Award. He later completed a Master’s Degree in Musicology and Music Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, graduated in Classical Guitar from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, and completed the European Master’s Degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, studying with Guillem Pérez-Quer and Anabel Montesinos.
He has furthered his artistic training through masterclasses with internationally renowned guitarists including Leo Brouwer, Ricardo Gallén, Hopkinson Smith, Judicaël Perroy, Petrit Çeku, Nora Buschmann, and Àlex Garrobé.
As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed extensively in Spain, Andorra, Argentina, and Chile. In 2024 he made his debut as a soloist at the Palau de la Música Catalana with the Barcelona Guitar Orchestra. He is the founder and member of Trío Desconcierto, Duo Jovićić–Scevola, and Scevola Ensemble.
His distinctions include Third Prize at the IV Concurs Internacional de Cambra Romànica (2022), Third Prize at the Certamen Llobet (2018), the Mompou Prize (2018), and the Llobet Prize (2015).
