Piano Concert

Dear friends!

We invite you to the CD launch concert for “Musical Reminiscences of the Past” on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Escola Luthier.

This is the second artistic project by the “Guelar Piano Duo” (Larisa Loginova and Gennady Dzubenko). The album presents a remarkable collection of works for piano four-hands, written by two masters of musical Impressionism: the Italian Ottorino Respighi and the French Claude Debussy. The compositions capture the retrospective vision and understanding of the ancient cultures and civilizations of Greece and Rome. These reminiscences of the past became, for both composers, a way of understanding the present and expressing, in a contemporary language, respect for tradition and the enduring values of classical art.

Both members of the Guelar Duo have been beloved teachers at our school for several years.

We hope to see you there! Free admission, everyone is welcome!

Guelar Piano Duo: Larisa Loginova and Gennady Dzyubenko, who had been performing together for a long time, decided to become the “Guelar Piano Duo”—a stable ensemble that began giving concerts in 2009. Graduates of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, Loginova and Dzyubenko pursued independent professional careers with significant achievements: Loginova as a musicologist, teacher, and pianist, and Dzyubenko as a concert pianist with an extensive and varied repertoire.

Larisa Loginova began her professional career at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. From 2001, she taught music theory and solfège in Croatia at the Ino Mirkovic Academy of Music and at Strossmeier University. For several years, she has been a professor of music theory and piano at the Escola d’Arts Musicals i Dansa “Luthier” in Barcelona, Spain. As a visiting professor, she has taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria, and Central Michigan University in the United States. Larisa Loginova regularly participates in international conferences, masterclasses, and music festivals.

Gennady Dzyubenko dedicated the first half of his musical career entirely to concert performance. As a solo pianist and member of the Romantic Trio, he performed in major concert halls in France, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Croatia, Japan, the United States, and Australia. His repertoire is extensive and varied. Music critics have particularly praised his emotional intensity and technical mastery in his interpretations of Liszt, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Prokofiev. Dzyubenko has recorded 12 CDs of Russian and Western European music from the 19th and 20th centuries.

For the past 20 years, the pianist has combined his concert career with teaching. He is a piano professor at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory in Girona and at the Escola d’Arts Musicals i Dansa Luthier in Barcelona. Gennady Dzyubenko is also the artistic director of the Isaac Albéniz Music Course and Festival in Camprodon—the composer’s birthplace.

The performances of Gennady Dzyubenko and Larisa Loginova as the “Guelar Piano Duo” immediately attracted public attention for their remarkable synergy, expressive interpretations, and distinct creative individuality. The duo tours successfully both within and outside the European Union.
